  9. Sophos Anti-Virus (SAV) for Macintosh detects Macintosh and macro viruses, providing automatic virus reporting and disinfection.
  10.  
  11. It has two components :
  12.  
  13. •    SWEEP for on-demand scanning.
  14. •    InterCheck for on-access scanning.
  15.  
  16. InterCheck on-access scanning is currently avavilable for Macintosh workstations only if they are connected to a Windows NT or NetWare file server running Sophos Anti-Virus.
  17. For details of InterCheck for Macintosh, see 'Installing InterCheck clients' chapter of the Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows NT  or Sophos Anti-Virus for NetWare  user manual.

  19. SWEEP offers an Immediate mode of operation allowing the user to scan local hard disks, removable media and network volumes for viruses at any time. There are two ways  to perform virus checking.

  21. • Scan the items specified in the Area list.
  22. • Drag and Drop items on to the 'GO' button without adding them to the Area list.

  55. Central updating (from 3.19 to 3.20) will not copy the Sophos Anti-Virus Guide file. This must be copied manually to the same folder as SWEEP.

  57. When the Sophos Anti-Virus display is not the active window, a Drag and Drop scan may not be interrupted.
